About David Bateman
David Bateman is a Louisiana maritime attorney and the founder of Bateman Law Firm, which he established in 1996 in his hometown of Baton Rouge. A lifelong resident of Louisiana’s capital city, David earned both his undergraduate degree and Juris Doctor from Louisiana State University.
From the outset of his career, David has been committed to providing clients with dedicated, personal legal representation. He founded Bateman Law Firm with a focused practice in commercial litigation, maritime law, personal injury, and professional malpractice, allowing him to deliver experienced advocacy across complex and high-stakes matters.
David is admitted to practice before the District Courts for the Middle, Eastern, and Western Districts of Louisiana, the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeal, and the United States Supreme Court. His broad federal and appellate admissions reflect the depth of his litigation experience and his ability to represent clients at every level of the legal process.
Outside the office, David resides in Baton Rouge with his wife, Claire, and daughter, Avery Claire. He enjoys spending his free time outdoors, whether on the water or in the woods, often taking advantage of Louisiana’s Sportsman’s Paradise with his son, Drew.
